Boys Football

18th October 2019P Steadman

It has been a really busy couple of weeks for the boys football teams with our school taking part in 3 different divisions.

In the Wednesday Mortimer League the boys got off to a mixed start with us out playing Monkton and somehow getting beat 3-2. In the second game a backs to the wall dsiplay by the boys saw them beat Ashley 1 nil.

In the Thursday Temple Park League the boys got off to a flying start beating Whitburn Village 5-1 and in the second game they beat Marsden 5-2. This was under the coaching guidance of Miss Smith.

In the the Thursday Biddick Hall League the boys have now completed their season. They defeated every team they played at least once and going into the final game of the season against St Gregorys R.C. the boys knew that win would win them the league. A real team performance saw the boys gradually get themselves on top and a fantastic goal from Josh put them 1 up before half time. In the second half the boys pounced on the counter attack and Logan followed up on his own good work to score the goal that won the title. Massive well done to the boys, who as always, were a pleasure to coach.

A Winning Start

27th September 2019P Steadman

Thursday saw the start of the new football season for the boys teams and it was a step into the unknown as we have joined a new league this year playing against different schools.

In the first match the boys played against Jarrow Cross and took an early lead after Logan headed home from a corner and a couple of fantastic saves from Daniel kept the boys in the lead. Jack then made it 2 before half time with a smart finish on the turn. In the second half Jarrow pulled one back before Josh made it 3-1. In the last minute Jarrow scored their second goal but the boys held out for the win.

In the second match the boys played the host Biddick Hall and again took the lead through Logan who finished low past the keeper, Logan then grabbed his second goal of the game before setting up Bailey who made it 3-0 at half time. In the second half Biddick Hall pulled one back before Max played a 1-2 with Bailey and scored his first gaol for the team. Bailey then got on the end of a cross with a diving header to make it 5-1 before Biddick Hall pulled another goal back to make 5-2 at full time.

Well done boys.

Milk for the Autumn Term is now available for payment. The cost for milk is

Those children in receipt of free school meals (income based) do not pay for
milk, however from September if your child is in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2
